Bishop
William Lee Bonner recalled how Bishop
Lawson called Washington, D.C. a preacher s graveyard
and a mission s wreck shop. It seemed that Washington,
D.C. had become a high place that he just didn t know
how to bring down. He committed himself to thought
and prayer, he petitioned the Lord for His vision for
Washington, D.C. THEN HE WAITED.
The Lord instructed him to buy some land in the name of
COOLJC and deed it to the COOLJC so that its name would
forever be on the title. Bishop Bonner led the construction
of a million dollar church in Washington, D.C. in just
15 months. Bishop Bonner is responsible for the
architectural design that embodies the beauty of sanctification
and exudes wealth and greatness. In December 1989,
Greater Refuge Temple Church of Washington, D.C. was formally
established and held its first service. Greater
Refuge Temple Church of Washington, D.C. now its mother
church back. Bishop Bonner has set Bishop Lawson
s (his spiritual father) house in order.
Another vision of Bishop Bonner was the ground breaking
for Refuge Temple Church of Columbia, South Carolina on
July 20, 1993. Pastor Bonner's vision for his ministry
in Columbia was fulfilled consisting of a Family Life
Center, a Retirement Community and the W. L. Bonner Bible
College. Through our Pastor s love for education,
